[00:00:00] Honestly, I’ve had so many encounters. With anti semitism, it’s like hard for me to pick one. I was called a kike when I was in seventh grade, I believe. That was the first time I was called a kike. I’ve had people say to me my whole life, like, Oh, are you trying to Jew them down? I was asked if I had horns.

[00:00:21] I don’t, at least not today. I’ve been oh, I worked at a very large cable channel. I won’t say which and I had a boss there and it was Rosh Hashanah and he was leaving. He said, I’m leaving early today. And I said, oh, you’re, oh, cause it’s Rosh Hashanah, are you Jewish? And he literally went, no.

[00:00:42] and pointed at his nose. And I said I am. And he went, Oh, I thought you were Spanish. And I said, yeah, I’m, I’m both. I’m a Spanish Jew. And he was like, Oh, night and left. And like, I think it was 30 minutes later. I. Popped my head into my boss, same company. And I said, Hey, I’m all done with my work today.

[00:01:05] You know, I’m going to leave a little bit early, about 10 minutes, if that’s okay with you. And, and she looked at me dead seriously. And she said, Oh, it’s Rosh Hashanah. So you gotta rush a homa, do you?

[00:01:19] Yeah, I guess. I was in the South with my ex in laws and their family. And I was told by one of their families that he liked me a lot, but when he spoke about white people, he meant real white people, not me. And to be totally honest, I was totally fine with that. Keep that title. I’m all good being who I am.

[00:01:43] It’s fine. I’m proud. I’m Jewish. I don’t have a problem with that. I’m sure I have other examples, but, you know, I’ll leave you with those for now. It’s not easy sometimes being Jewish. It’s certainly not easy right now. Oh, I’ve been ca recently online I’ve been called a It’s a, they kept saying Zio and then they put the eggplant.

[00:02:02] So I guess it’s Zio dick is what they’re going for. Which is kind of funny because, well, if you, you know, Zion in Hebrew that, well, whatever, slang wise, that can mean something else. Yeah, anyway, I’m Celia Behar. I am a therapist and a life coach in LA and I am proud and Jewish. And I’m Mizrahi, peace out.
